Our place is one of many lay Diamond Way Buddhist meditation centers of the Diamond Way Buddhist Karma Kagyu Lineage Association of Poland. Rzeszów center was established in 2002 by Lama Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah, under the guidance of the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje- meditation master and head of the Karma Kagyu lineage. It is currently led by our main teacher, Lama Ole Nydahl, under the patronage of the 17th Karmapa, Thaje Dorje head of the Karma Kagyu school. Diamond Way Centers are places where lay Buddhists are gathering for common meditations, individual practice, joining lectures and meditation courses. Both lectures and meditations are guided in mother languages and in the style which is suitable for our culture. They are for the beginners as well as more experienced people. The centers are maintained by all practitioners on the voluntary basis. All activities and operations are financed entirely by membership dues and donations, whether direct or received through lectures, courses, and other events. Rzeszów center is made up a group of about a dozen people. We work closely with friends from other centers in the surrounding cities – Lubaczów, Krosno, and Stalowa Wola. We meditate together, share our experiences, and organize lectures and meditation courses. For a long time, we have been deciding that we want to go a step further – to have our own place that will truly be our home. A space where we will be true hosts – for shared practice and growth, accessible and open to the needs of all those interested in the Buddha's teachings. Lama Ole supports our project, so with great enthusiasm and energy we began searching for a suitable property for this purpose. We will create this place together – out of friendship, inspiration, and a heartfelt desire. The basis for buddhist practice lays in the three pillars: knowledge, meditation and action. While taking part in lectures, reading book we get to know Buddhist teachings, but thanks to meditation we can transform the view from the teachings into our practical experience. THE FIRST VISIT
Those who would like to come to the centre for the first time to get the explanations about the practice and take part in the guided meditation, are welcome every.
Tuesday at 7 pm and join Project Start
Explanations are conducted in Polish (If you need explanation in english please contact us).
Those who don't have the Project Start dates are welcome to attend the 16th Karmapa meditations. To all those who come to meditation for the first time, the leader always gives a short introduction. In the centre you can also borrow or buy books about Buddhism
WHEN DO WE MEDITATE
16TH KARMAPA MEDITATION
The main practice done in our centres is 16th Karmapa mediation, which is done every day:
Tuesday – Wednesday at 7:30 PM
Thursday – Sunday at 7:30 PM
Additionally, every Monday at 7 PM we invite all those already practicing in our lineage to a joint meditation practice.
